Cave of Cabirol
Leaping like roe deer

The Grotta del Cabirol (roe deer in Italian) takes its name from the staircase of the same name above which leads to the caves of Neptune, the name probably derives from its position and its conformation, a wall in fact that only roe deer, with their agility and mastery they could travel. The Cave has a particular shape on several levels, connected to each other by vertical siphons and with a large opening that creates particularly suggestive plays of light, particularly in the afternoon hours. The depth does not exceed 18 meters. The walls are not particularly rich in encrusting life forms due to the fact that its exposure to the north-west currents and waves does not allow such encrustations to develop. With mistral storm surges, the upper openings at surface level function as shower heads, creating spectacular jets of pressurized water. By visiting the cave we will do like roe deer, jumping from one level to another to discover a beautiful cavity.
